A type of surgery that improves blood flow to the heart by removing the plaque buildup in arteries used to treat patients with severe coronary heart disease.  

Primary PCI

Treatment method where you can use a catheter (a thin flexible tube) to inflate the heart vessels that are blocked or narrowed.

Aortic Valve Replacement

Replacement of the valve in the heart between the left ventricle and the aorta.

Mitral Valve Replacement

Surgical procedure in which a patient's diseased mitral valve is replaced by either a mechanical or bioprosthetic valve.

Angioplasty and stenting

A procedure used to open clogged heart arteries which  involves inserting and inflating a tiny balloon in the artery to help widen the passageway.

AV fistula closure

Surgical procedure in which an abnormal connection or passageway between an artery and a vein is reconstructed.
